Monday Madness: The Arena by Ben Kane

Monday Madness is a new bookish meme hosted by Bookfever & Booklover's Teaparty

You know that feeling when you feel like you are gonna go mad if you do not get a certain book right away, when you are obsessed and all you want is that one book and you will be happy? That is what Monday Madness is about. All those books you that drive you mad.

Pick a book. Talk about it- why do you want it? What has drawn you to it? Why is it making you mad with want for it?

The Arena by Ben Kane
Eagles of Rome #1.5
Published January 28th 2016 by Cornerstone Digital

An exclusive digital short from Ben Kane, ‘the rising star of historical fiction’ (Wilbur Smith).

A day out with comrades, brutal gladiator fights, a bet with disastrous consequences. A Roman soldier’s much anticipated payday plays out in very different ways to those he expected.

The German frontier, AD 12. Legionary Marcus Piso is set to enjoy a four monthly payday with his comrades. Wine, food and gladiatorial entertainment are on offer, and his purse is full.

But thanks to a dishonest bet maker, events take on a very dangerous life of their own...

The Arena is a prequel to Ben Kane's upcoming novel, Hunting the Eagles, the second in the new gripping three-part series, Eagles of Rome. It also includes a sample chapter from the new book.

So I can read this short story whenever I want on Wattpad, but I wanted to feature it anyway because I just finished Hunting the Eagles yesterday. Yes it was brilliant! So I definitely want to read The Arena very soon. Also trust me when I say if you want to read excellent historical fiction, Ben Kane is definitely an author you have to read!
